IN THIS LESSON YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO AND WHY TO CASTLE EARLY

To the right is an image of a player who has failed to castle early and is now suffering the consequences of an open king

The rules of castling:

-When you castle you move the king in two squares and flip the rook onto the opposite side of the king

-You cant castle out of a check or checkmate.

- you cant castle through a check or into one.

-You can’t have moved the king or the rook you want to castle with.

  • When you play against more aggressive players or just players in general you want to keep your king nice and safe, you also get a bonus of moving your rooks one step closer to connecting!
